Flurry reported earlyer today that dedicated gaming devices like Nintendo or Sony Psp have lost a lot of market share in the last yaer in front of the multi purpose devices like the smartphones running iOS or Android. It is shown that people are more willing to spend one dollar for one simpler game rather than spending a lot of money on a game that the play on a single device. Let's not forget the games made for dedicated devices are much more expensive than the games found on the Apple App Store or the Android Market.
In the report it is shown that not only regular people buy rather cheaper games but also gamers who are playing dedicated games for a long time.
It is suggested for this companies to move theyr games to the App stores in order to have profit or else they are heading for a "Nokia-like" downfall of they'r bussinesses!

"The most striking trend is that iOS and Android games have tripled their market share from roughly 20% in 2009 to nearly 60% in just two years. Simultaneously, Nintendo, the once dominant player, has been crushed down to owning about one-third of market in 2011, from having controlled more than two-thirds in 2009. Combined, iOS and Android game revenue delivered $500 million, $800 million and $1.9 billion over 2009, 2010 and 2011, respectively."
